Custom Sublimated Hoodies: 24 Colors and Design Ideas

A team mascot with room to spread its wings. A favorite guitar drawn in jewel tones. A muscle car that looks ready to leave the fabric. A great custom hoodie begins with one idea worth wearing—and gives that idea room to breathe.
The Custom All-Over Print Performance Hoodie brings your artwork to the front, back, both sleeves, and hood, and every hoodie is made in the USA, printed, cut, and sewn to order in Phoenix, Arizona. This guide explores all 24 base colors, six design directions, and the artwork, sizing, and ordering decisions that help an all-over print hoodie feel considered from every angle.

At a glance
One hoodie. Five panels. Your design.
$89.99 per hoodie
Full-color sublimation across all five panels is included. Lightweight polyester performance knit, a lined hood, drawcords, and a front pouch pocket. Made in the USA: printed, cut, and sewn to order in Phoenix, Arizona. Order one or build a coordinated collection for your group.
The process
What makes a fully sublimated hoodie different?
Dye sublimation prints the design into the fabric before the panels are cut and sewn. The base color, background, and artwork can run edge to edge across each printable panel. That gives you space for large illustrations, flowing shapes, and coordinated sleeve details.
Use that freedom deliberately. A beautifully drawn focal image can sit against a largely solid background, with just enough color repeated on the sleeves to connect the garment. A full print area does not mean every inch needs a different graphic.
This hoodie uses a thin, breathable, moisture-wicking polyester knit with a lightweight, sun-hoodie feel. Plan it as a light layer for travel, events, and everyday wear. The cuffs, waistband, drawcords, and hood lining match your selected base color; the five design panels are the front, back, left sleeve, right sleeve, and hood.
The palette
Choose from 24 hoodie colors.
Choose the base for the way it supports your artwork. Dark colors create drama around bright highlights. Pale colors give fine illustration space. A saturated team color can become the strongest part of the whole design.

Classic neutrals
Jet black, Charcoal, Sport gray, White. Build contrast first. Cyan and cream give black artwork clear edges; navy or charcoal lettering keeps a white or gray design readable.
Warm earth tones
Cream, Sand, Chocolate. Try terracotta, deep green, or warm ivory accents for studios, cafés, outdoor clubs, and art-led designs. Leave generous space around a small wordmark.
Reds, orange, and gold
Burgundy, Red, Coral, Orange, Athletic gold. These bases bring energy before you add artwork. Use a dark anchor and one light accent to keep racing, music, or team graphics distinct.
Greens and teal
Olive green, Forest green, Kelly green, Teal. Match the mood to the shade: earthy contours on olive, cream lettering on forest, or crisp white accents on kelly green and teal.
Blues
Navy, Royal blue, Slate blue, Light blue. Navy supports rich mascot illustration. Royal blue suits sharp athletic graphics. Slate and light blue make quieter backdrops for detailed art and music themes.
Purples and pinks
Purple, Lavender, Hot pink, Light pink. Give vibrant bases a clear silhouette, or pair softer tones with dark linework. These palettes work beautifully for dance groups, creative brands, and expressive artwork.
Screen colors are a guide; the finished print can vary slightly from your display. Compare the complete palette and campaign examples on the hoodie product page.
The inspiration
Six custom hoodie design ideas with a clear point of view.
The strongest designs have a recognizable subject, a controlled palette, and a reason for every supporting detail. Use these fictional campaign concepts as inspiration for your own team, band, business, club, or personal project.
Design direction 01
Teams and mascots: give the illustration room.
The Apex Falcons concept pairs a detailed bird with a navy field, cream lettering, and red accents. The large back graphic does the expressive work; smaller birds and restrained sleeve stripes repeat the identity. For your team, establish the mascot first, then place the team name where it reads clearly below the resting hood. Keep fine detail inside the illustration and use simpler shapes around it.

Design direction 02
Athletics: let the lines suggest movement.
Velocity Athletics uses a royal blue base with a sweeping white and navy graphic and a small bright accent. The movement continues onto the sleeves without surrounding the team name with clutter. For running clubs, training groups, or travel apparel, choose one direction for the lines and repeat it consistently. A short wordmark and an easily read number finish the identity.

Design direction 03
Music: turn an instrument into the centerpiece.
Afterglow Sessions places a richly illustrated guitar against jet black, with teal, amber, and orange curves that echo the instrument’s shape. It feels connected to music before you read the name. Use a distinctive instrument, an original album motif, or a carefully drawn sound-inspired shape for band merchandise, studio apparel, or a concert series. Keep the artist or event name concise and leave the illustration its own space.

Design direction 04
Automotive: make the car the hero.
The Redline Motor Club concept centers a detailed blue muscle car under crisp cream and cyan lettering. Small sleeve illustrations and two clean stripes support the main image. For an enthusiast club, choose one distinctive vehicle angle and build the composition around its silhouette. Keep the wheels, headlights, and body lines large enough to survive the final print size; use your club name as the secondary feature.

Design direction 05
Artwork: balance intricate detail with open space.
Porcelain Heron combines blue feather detail, a white background, and a small warm accent. The bird has a strong overall shape, so the design reads from across a room as well as up close. For nature illustration, fine art, or a personal collection, choose one main subject and borrow a small part of its visual language for the sleeves. Preserve quiet areas around delicate lines.

Design direction 06
Business and creative brands: make it wearable beyond work.
Form Atelier pairs a compact wordmark with flowing terracotta and charcoal forms on cream. The result gives the business a recognizable visual identity without turning the whole garment into a sign. For a studio, café, shop, or event team, begin with your logo and one shape drawn from your brand. Keep the wordmark readable, then let the larger artwork make the hoodie appealing in its own right.

Design guidance
Make all five panels feel connected.
Decide what someone should notice first, then give the remaining panels supporting roles. You can customize each panel separately while still making the hoodie read as one design.
- Front: introduce the idea.
- Place the name, logo, or main illustration where it stays legible around the drawcords and pouch pocket. Avoid putting a face, tiny lettering, or a critical detail directly across a pocket edge.
- Back: use the larger visual field.
- A mascot, car, instrument, or bold composition can become the main feature. Check the view with the hood resting down so it does not cover the most important words.
- Sleeves: repeat, then simplify.
- Carry over one stripe, curve, accent color, or smaller motif. Leave room around names and numbers. The Studio names left and right sleeves from the wearer’s point of view.
- Hood: choose details that work in sections.
- Use a small emblem or a simple continuation of the background. Keep essential lettering away from the center seam and hood opening.
- Edges: protect the important parts.
- Keep names and logos about ½ inch inside panel edges. Print can cover the panel, but important details need breathing room. Small placement differences can occur around seams, the pocket, and hood opening.
A useful design test
- Look at the whole hoodie first.
- Zoom out. Can you identify the subject and read the name immediately? If several elements compete for attention, simplify the background or reduce the smaller graphics before adding more detail.
Artwork preparation
Start with a file that can hold its detail.
A small image can look sharp on a phone and still print softly when enlarged across a hoodie. Judge the artwork at the size you intend to print, especially fine fur, feathers, instrument strings, and car details.
- Use a clean source file.
- Upload PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 50 MB per file and eight files per design. A transparent PNG is useful for a standalone logo or illustration because it avoids an unwanted rectangular background.
- Export in sRGB.
- Use the original, largest-quality artwork available. Avoid screenshots or repeatedly compressed copies. Keep your master file so you can make a cleaner export if the preview shows rough edges.
- Choose Fit or Fill deliberately.
- Fit keeps the whole image visible. Fill covers the panel and trims the excess. Check the subject after changing either setting, especially an animal’s ears, a guitar neck, or the outside edges of a car.
- Review the resolution warnings.
- The NWP Design Studio shows print resolution as you resize and flags artwork that may print softly. If an image needs to be smaller to stay clear, adjust the layout or provide a better source file.

Fit and feel
Choose your size before approving the design.
The hoodie is available in adult S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. Measure around the fullest part of your chest, then compare the garment measurements with a hoodie you like. For a roomier fit or when between sizes, choose the larger size.
| Size | Body chest | Flat chest width | Length | Sleeve |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 35–37 | 19.5 | 27.75 | 35 |
| M | 38–40 | 21 | 28.75 | 35.75 |
| L | 41–43 | 22.5 | 29.75 | 36.5 |
| XL | 44–46 | 24 | 30.75 | 37.25 |
| 2XL | 47–49 | 25.5 | 31.75 | 38 |
Body chest is measured around the person. Garment measurements are approximate and taken flat: chest width 1 inch below the armholes; length from the high shoulder point to the back hem, excluding the hood; sleeve from the center back of the neck to the cuff. On a phone, swipe the chart to see every measurement.
For group orders, collect each person’s size instead of estimating from their usual T-shirt. Our team ordering checklist can help organize sizes, names, quantities, and the event date in one place.
